Job Description

This role supports a busy construction project by performing physically demanding, hands-on work that keeps the job site operating safely and efficiently. You will move and stage materials, assist skilled trades and construction crews, and help maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. The position offers significant overtime, with a typical schedule of 7080 hours per week, including 12-hour shifts starting at 4:00 AM. You will work in an active construction-site environment and play a key role in ensuring crews have the tools, equipment, and materials they need to stay productive.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, stage, and transport construction materials throughout the job site in a safe and efficient manner.
• Move tools, equipment, supplies, and materials to designated work areas to support ongoing construction activities.
• Assist skilled tradespeople and construction crews as needed with general labor and material handling tasks.
• Organize and maintain material staging areas so that materials are easy to access and properly stored.
• Perform general site cleanup, including removing debris and excess materials from work areas.
• Use carts, dollies, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment when assigned to move materials safely.
• Help ensure crews have the materials and supplies needed to complete their work on schedule.
• Follow site-specific safety procedures and directions from site leadership at all times.
• Maintain clean, clear, and hazard-free walkways and work areas to support a safe job site.
• Perform repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and standing throughout the shift.
• Report consistently for a 4:00 AM start time and complete 12-hour shifts as scheduled.
• Work cooperatively with other laborers, trades, and supervisors to support overall project goals.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in construction, warehouse, material handling, manufacturing, or general labor is preferred.
• Comfort performing physically demanding work for extended 12-hour shifts.
• Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to work on your feet for the majority of a 12-hour shift.
• Willingness and ability to work approximately 7080 hours per week, including overtime as needed.
• Reliability to consistently report for a 4:00 AM start time.
• Strong attendance and dependability to support project schedules.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and directions from site leadership.
• Comfort working in an active construction-site environment around equipment, materials, and active trades.
• Basic familiarity with general labor tasks such as loading, unloading, and material handling.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Southaven, MS.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
