Position Overview Working on the Oncology Sales team, the Lead Regional Oncology Specialist (Lead ROS) will develop and implement a plan to maximize the utilization of Exact Sciences’ products in targeted accounts, while staying within budget, and support corporate objectives and highlight the delivery of key selling messages. Products may include OncoDetect (MRD), OncoExTra, RiskGuard (Hereditary Cancer Testing), and Cancerguard (MCED). The Lead ROS should incorporate a high level of service toward being the best‑in‑class for an assay provider. The plans are used to solve challenging problems in a dynamic environment. They emphasize developing customer relationships as well as leveraging strong clinical and scientific expertise, key stakeholder insight, and a selling approach in a highly competitive and complex market. The Lead ROS must have, or be able to quickly develop, a clear understanding of key territory‑related clinical/political issues and will devote whatever time is necessary to complete the objectives outlined in the sales plan. This is a field‑based position. The territory includes multiple regions across West Virginia, including Charleston, Huntington, Morgantown, Wheeling, and Parkersburg. Essential Duties Consistently meet or exceed sales objectives in an assigned geographic area (territory) through field‑based call activity and meetings with healthcare providers and their staff on a regular basis. Sell company products or services, develop new accounts, and drive depth within existing accounts. Demonstrate elevated territory management, planning, and implementation. Develop and implement a highly strategic and actionable tactical plan to maximize product utilization while staying within budget and supporting corporate objectives. Execute with a strong understanding of key territory‑related clinical/political issues while dedicating required time to complete sales objectives. Drive growth through in‑depth knowledge of scientific and applicable disease states, competition, and outside influences that impact the business. Complete all training programs and work proficiently with the concepts and complexities associated with genomic testing and Exact Sciences Precision Oncology products. Maintain an in‑depth understanding of all disease states associated with Exact Sciences’ products and the competition; use technical fluency to move target physicians and influencers to actions that result in patient access and utilization. Strive for excellence in all aspects of performance and commit to continuous self‑evaluation and development. Attend sales meetings and professional conferences around the U.S. as needed. Develop relationships with national opinion leaders in oncology and pathology within the target territory. Communicate effectively and maintain open communication with internal employees, managers, and customers. Integrate and apply feedback professionally. Prioritize to drive results with a high emphasis on quality. Work effectively as part of a team. Quickly learn and understand clinical research in cancer. Work seated for approximately 50 % of a typical working day; stand for the remaining 50 %. Lift up to 25 pounds for approximately 15 % of a typical working day. Travel approximately 75 % of working time away from the primary location, including overnight or weekend travel. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business Management, Marketing, Science, or related field, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree. 5+ years of sales experience with a strong record of success selling or promoting complex products in medical oncology and/or diagnostics, or similar healthcare products. 3+ years of medical sales experience in specialty areas including buy‑and‑bill, medical device, and highly clinical specialties such as urology, cardiology, or GI. 3+ years of experience selling in a highly competitive environment. Demonstrated clinical and scientific expertise. Strong territory or account management skills. Strong understanding of competitors and market trends that affect product utilization by customers. Valid driver’s license with no suspended, revoked, or otherwise invalid status; no more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months; no alcohol or drug event involving vehicle operation within the last 36 months; no other Motor Vehicle Report findings exposing excessive liability to the company. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Clinical experience. 1+ year of experience in oncology, either selling chemo/immunotherapy or diagnostics. Strong relationships within oncology accounts in the territory. Experience selling to surgeons and cancer centers. Experience in next‑generation sequencing, minimal residual disease, comprehensive genomic profiling, liquid biopsy, and/or hereditary cancer. Salary Range $127,000.00 – $191,000.00 (annual base salary for this position located in WV – Charleston on a full‑time basis; may differ by hiring location). Bonus eligible.
