Systems Administrator I

Salary: $76,000 - 116,000 per year Requirements:

• We require demonstrated experience applying systems security procedures for desktops, laptops, servers, peripherals, and software in line with government standards.
• We require demonstrated experience installing, configuring, and administering enterprise hardware, including desktops, laptops, servers, peripherals, and software.
• We require demonstrated ability to maintain and support computer networks, switches, and other network connectivity equipment.
• We need strong verbal and written communication skills.
• We prefer a bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
• We prefer 4+ years of relevant experience in systems administration or technical support.
• We prefer two of the following four certifications: Managing Modern Desktop (MD101 or higher), Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Red Hat Server Administrator (RHSA), or a Cisco professional-level certification such as CCDP or CCNP.
• We require the ability to work onsite in Norman, OK.
• We require eligibility to obtain a Moderate Public Trust security clearance.
• We value a willingness to learn and develop in a closely supervised support role.

• We provide logistics and installation support for the National Weather Service Warning Decision Training Division computing environment.
• We administer and support desktops, laptops, servers, workstations, peripherals, and software.
• We diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
• We manage backup operations, including monthly full backups and daily incremental backups with a two-month rotating retention window.
• We maintain email accounts and distribution lists in coordination with our Network Manager.
• We support Windows, Linux, and UNIX servers, workstations, laptops, and virtual machines.
• We assist with Certification and Accreditation activities alongside our Information System Security Officer as needed.
• We sustain network performance for computers, switches, and other connectivity devices.
• We handle network administration tasks such as user additions and removals, access control, service administration, and monitoring.
• We support secure remote access through VPNs and the IP-based video teleconferencing system.
• We organize, archive, process, and retrieve meteorological data sets from archives.
