Mental Health Clinician - School Based

Description The School-Based Mental Health Clinician is embedded within the Jefferson County 509j School District and the outpatient Child and Family Mental Health office. This model delivers mental health services directly in a school setting, reducing barriers such as cost, transportation, and confidentiality concerns to improve outcomes for children and adolescents. The clinician also works with the Child and Family Outpatient Team outside of school hours to coordinate care, including peer support, WRAP, Intensive In‑Home Behavioral Health Treatment (IIBHT), Substance Use Treatment, and other services offered through the Jefferson County Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). We are looking for a collaborative, self‑motivated clinician who serves the child and adolescent population of Jefferson County, Oregon. This position qualifies for the Oregon Behavioral Health Loan Repayment Program Responsibilities Provide direct patient care through brief interventions, referral, and coordination of specialty mental health services. Work closely as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with primary care providers to support behavioral, physical, and psychosocial needs. Assess, treat, and manage patients within an integrated behavioral health care model. Assist in developing patient care plans, provide consultation, and make referrals as appropriate. Plan and deliver psychological assessments and diagnoses, and provide brief psychotherapeutic interventions. Maintain strong collaborative relationships with community partners, including school districts, DHS‑Child Welfare, the County Juvenile Department, public health, local health clinics, and other relevant programs. Gather, track, and present outcome data to the team. Provide one‑to‑one, group, and family counseling and mental health outreach. Collaborate with treatment team members and other agencies, documenting all services in client files. Lead psycho‑educational, skill‑development, anger management, parenting, gender‑specific, and family groups as assigned. Participate in weekly mental‑health team meetings and other required meetings. Stay current with local social service networks to assist students and families with necessary resources. Document all services within agency deadlines and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR, and Oregon statutes. Complete training and certification required for crisis work and participate in after‑hours crisis rotation. Include hours in BestCare’s clinic as needed based on caseload. Qualifications Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, behavioral sciences, or a related field. QMHP‑I or QMHP‑R certification upon hire, with a commitment to attain certification within six months, or PCA CSWA registration with a plan to attain a license within two years. Valid Oregon driver’s license or ability to obtain one upon hire; insurable under the organization’s auto liability coverage policy. For individuals in recovery from substance‑use disorder, continuous recovery for the previous two years at time of hire. Preferred: Professional licensure and/or dual CADC credential. Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish. Preference given to candidates with professional licensure. Compensation Salary: $32.98–$41.19 per hour.
