Provides Human Resource support in the areas of Benefits Administration, Recruitment and Retention, and Employee Relations, as well as special projects as directed for a manufacturing operation. Serves as back-up for other HR team members as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs routine tasks to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
- Monitors and updates employee attendance tracking system
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Provides support in benefits administration for Health and Welfare Benefit Plans including Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, COBRA, Life, Disability, FMLA and Telemedicine
- Performs corrections and employee status changes as needed in HRIS systems
- Supports HR staff to recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Assists in the New Hire and Onboarding of new hires
- Tracks work related injuries, submits Workers Compensation initial claims, supports in recording of OSHA logs and works with supervisors to monitor return-to-work programs
- Monitors all FMLA and Disability claims for domestic locations with vendor and location HR staff
- Completes special projects as directed
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Required Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities for Consideration as a Candidate :
- Strongly preferred- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources , Business Administration, or related field or proven equivalent experience
- At least three years of human resource management experience .
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- SHRM-CP Certification a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate .
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Working knowledge of HRIS
- Exceptional organizational skills and detail orientation
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and act as a trusted member of the HR Staff
