Kona Ice in Sumter, SC is seeking enthusiastic and energetic Event Specialist Drivers and Servers to join our fun, lively team. As a brand ambassador operating or serving from the coolest trucks in town, you will represent a data-driven, professional small business that values customer service and community engagement. This role requires running your own truck independently at local events of varying sizes while ensuring an enjoyable experience for all customers.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate Kona Ice trucks safely at community events, festivals, private parties, and school sports gatherings
• Provide exceptional customer service as a server or driver
• Manage sales transactions using mobile POS systems
• Set up and tear down trucks and kiosks at event locations
• Handle cash accurately and securely
• Comply with all safety policies and local regulations
• Communicate effectively with team members via radios or cell phones
• Use route navigation apps to optimize travel within the local area

 

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 for servers; 17 for drivers with a valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record with at least two years of driving experience for drivers
• Reliable transportation to get to and from work locations
• Ability to work weekends and the 4th of July
• High school diploma or equivalent
• No disqualifying criminal history for working in school events
• Availability for day and night shifts

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in food truck or mobile service driving
• Strong customer service skills
• Proficiency with cash handling and communication tools
• Good time management and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with driving safety best practices

 

This position offers paid on-the-job training, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for growth such as managing multiple trucks and developing as a trainer or mentor. Join Kona Ice for rewarding pay starting at $12-$14 per hour including tips, casual attire, and a lively, social work environment with regular company events. Work location is primarily on the road within the local Sumter, SC area.
