Day Services Team Lead for I/DD Programs

About Daybreak Independent Services, Inc. Who We Are: In 2010, Daybreak Independent Services opened its doors for individuals with developmental disabilities to learn and apply their skills in a traditional work setting. Since then, Daybreak has expanded its mission to multiple locations, adding both people and additional services. DBIS Serves hundreds of New Yorkers living with developmental disabilities. Partnerships with local businesses like Stew Leonard, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls have allowed the vision to grow exponentially. In addition, taking on residential programs has allowed us to serve those who need round-the-clock supervision. It's only the beginning. As we change lives every day, we change in the process. So the work continues, and we look forward to what lies ahead. The primary mission of DBIS is to provide quality service to our individuals in a professional and caring manner. The Team Leader will develop and train the DSP for smooth operation. Qualifications Experience with I/DD population Must be passionate about working with Individuals Must be willing to adhere to safe health and safety standards Must build community amongst Individuals and staff. Must have a positive attitude. Summary of Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position Responsible for planning and Supervising the day's Hab. Program by the OPWDD/OMIG rules and regulations. Provide supervision and training to direct Professional support staff in the Day Services program. We are documenting services provided promptly using individual summary sheets and monthly and daily case notes. They ensure proper incident management, fire drills, and workers comp. Procedures are followed. Establishes and maintains open, positive lines of communication with individuals and parents. Participate in semi-annual and annual plan and ISP review meetings when required. Participate in OPWDD and provider association training when required. Any other duties as requested by the program manager Supervisor to ensure the safety and well-being of the disabled individuals that Daybreak serves. Education & Experience College degree or equivalent Capacity to supervise group work Outstanding planning and problem-solving skills Additionally, we ask that Team leaders have skills in behavior management, the types of protocols appropriate in a day Habilitation setting, and a willingness to modify or learn new behavior management skills to accommodate and enhance their experience in the program.
