About This Job Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections – Corrections Services. The Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women is a state-run correctional facility dedicated to rehabilitation and reentry of women inmates. Minimum Qualifications Current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Certified Social Worker (CSW). Master’s degree in social work. Permanent status is granted only with LMSW or LCSW licensure; a CSW credential does not qualify for permanent status. Job Duties Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide individual and group counseling addressing mental health, trauma, substance use, family relationships, and life skills. Respond to crises and provide stabilization support. Collaborate with security, medical, mental health, and program staff to ensure continuity of care. Maintain accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with state and facility standards. Assist with reentry planning, including referrals to community resources and support services. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to program development. Position Specific Details Appointment Type: Probationary or promotion to permanent status for a classified Louisiana state employee. Permanent staff may be required to accept a probationary appointment if hired. An employee selected for a promotion may need to serve a trial detail before permanent promotion. A temporary appointment may be used to fill a vacancy, with conversion to probationary status if a permanent position becomes available. Compensation Special Entrance Rate (SER): $19.88 per hour for Social Worker 1, $21.27 per hour for Social Worker 2, and $22.76 per hour for Social Worker 3. Premium pay of $2.00 to $5.00 per hour based on years of service with DOC, in addition to regular pay.
