Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) – Surgical Services in New Orleans, LA

What You'll Do:

Ensure proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments and equipment
Operate sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, and other specialized sterilization equipment
Maintain strict infection control protocols in line with hospital standards
Prepare, inspect, and package surgical tools for various procedures
Collaborate with surgical and clinical staff to meet operational needs
Assist in maintaining inventory and sterilization records
Follow safety procedures to ensure compliance and patient safety

What You Need:

CRCST or CSPDT certification required
Minimum of 3 years experience in hospital sterilization (Level I or II)
Proficiency with sterilizer, Sterrad, ultrasonic (CaviWave, Medisafe, Belimed) equipment
Ability to work under pressure in a busy hospital environment
Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety standards

About the Assignment:

This position involves supporting the surgical services team by preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments. The role requires flexibility for occasional emergency assignments and holiday coverage, including work during Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. You will be part of a team committed to maintaining high standards of sterility and patient safety in a busy hospital setting.
