It is a 122-bed acute care facility providing exceptional care in various medical and surgical services. The role involves planning, coordinating, and providing nursing care to patients in a medical/surgical unit. Care is oriented towards the physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Responsibilities include care planning, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and addressing physiological and psychosocial needs. The RN will supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel according to their scope of practice. This position is represented by a nursing association. Essential functions include providing nursing interventions in stable and emergent situations. The RN should demonstrate competence in routine nursing skills, including medication administration and intravenous therapy. Providing care for age-related needs is fundamental, especially for patients with hearing, learning, and physical disabilities. The RN will initiate a multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plan in collaboration with healthcare team members. Competency in various nursing practices, including epidural management and post-operative wound care, is essential. Education of patients and their families regarding care is a vital component of the role. Delegation of patient care tasks to ancillary personnel based on competency is expected. The RN will evaluate the effectiveness of care provided and maintain accurate documentation of all nursing interventions. Safety and quality control checks are mandatory, and the RN must identify opportunities to improve care and services. Flexibility to adapt to changes and pursue new goals is encouraged. Efficient use of downtime for job-related tasks is expected. Additional job-related duties may be assigned as necessary. Compliance with vaccination requirements is mandated for all associates. Exemptions based on medical or religious grounds may apply. Participation in employment verification processes is required. Scrubs are not provided, and any color is acceptable.
