Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule: 12-hour NIGHTS, 18:45–07:15

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Active NC or Compact License
• Certifications: AWHONN Beginner/Intermediate, BLS/BCLS, FHM, NRP
• Experience in labor and delivery and couplet/mother-baby care
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Manage labor and delivery, perform sterile vaginal exams, and assist with vaginal deliveries.
• Conduct fetal monitoring and recognize/treat abnormal FHR patterns.
• Perform newborn assessments, including APGAR and thermoregulation.
• Circulate for C-sections and provide recovery care in PACU.
• Administer medications, start and maintain peripheral IVs, and manage IV infusions.
• Triage obstetrical patients and ensure safe postpartum care for mother and newborn.

Compliance / Notes:

• Pre-approved time off must be accommodated; all RTO must be pre-approved.
• Vaccinations: Flu vaccine is required (medical/religious exemptions only).
• Background checks and drug screens may be required.
• Orientation includes hospital and unit-specific training.
