Job Description

This position is responsible for operating excavators and dozers on large-scale ash basin closure projects, supporting heavy production excavation and material handling activities. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment in environmental remediation, heavy civil construction, mining, landfill, or ash pond closure environments. Looking for dump truck, dozer, and bobcat experience

Responsibilities

• Excavate, load, and move coal ash, soil, rock, and other materials while maintaining production targets safely and efficiently.
• Load off-road haul trucks with ash and other materials for transport and disposal throughout the project site.
• Perform high-volume excavation work in active construction environments with multiple pieces of heavy equipment.

Essential Skills

• Experience with dozer and excavator operation in earthworks and heavy production excavation.
• Proficiency in coal ash handling and material movement.
• Competence in off-road haul truck loading.
• Ash basin closure experience.
• Involvement in environmental remediation projects.
• Experience in mass earthmoving operations.
• Familiarity with landfill, mining, or dredging environments.
• Skill in grade control and precision excavation.
• Ability to operate safely around heavy equipment.
• Experience with excavation in wet or unstable ground conditions.
• Capability to conduct equipment inspections and preventative maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience operating excavators in heavy production settings.
• Experience in high-production environments on ash pond closures, environmental remediation projects, landfills, mining operations, dredging projects, or other large-scale earthmoving projects.

Work Environment

This role supports ash basin closure projects at active power plants, performing high-production excavation and material handling activities. Operators will primarily use excavators to load off-road haul trucks with coal ash and other materials for transport throughout the site. Candidates must be comfortable working in heavy production environments while maintaining safety, quality, and environmental compliance standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, SC.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Georgetown,SC.
