PROJECT DESIGNER - PART TIME

Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled, concept‑driven Project Designer with a background in industrial, architectural, interior, or graphic design. The ideal candidate blends creativity with technical rigor and thrives in a collaborative environment. You will contribute to design strategy, lead portions of project development, coordinate with partner firms, and mentor junior designers. Title: Project Designer Type: Part‑Time Level: Intermediate Key Responsibilities Translate client goals and program requirements into compelling design concepts aligned with budget and schedule. Collaborate closely with the Design Director to plan and execute project workflows, including work plans, task hours, reporting, and consultant coordination. Participate in weekly / bi‑weekly project meetings with partner firms, clients and stakeholders. Contribute as part of the design team on larger projects and lead smaller to mid‑scale efforts. Present design concepts to partner firms, clients, and internal teams. Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned projects, integrating quality control throughout all design phases. Participate in a fast‑paced, iterative design process to develop conceptual, schematic, and final design solutions. Prepare documentation across all project phases (SD/DD/CD, IFC). Support full‑scope project management, including construction administration. Travel to client sites for surveys, presentations, and meetings as needed. Obtain and maintain required security credentials for facility access (if applicable). Deliver presentations for client interviews, seminars, and professional events. Participate in business development activities and contribute to design presentations for prospective clients. Mentor junior staff, providing direction, oversight, and support. Develop essential project management skills, including contract coordination, scope/schedule management, consultant oversight, and construction administration. Perform additional duties as required. Education Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Environmental Graphic Design, or a closely related discipline is required. Skills & Experience Strong portfolio demonstrating creative and technical design capabilities. Strategic thinker with excellent spatial visualization skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills and a proactive, “can‑do” attitude. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with AutoCAD and SketchUp (preferred). Experience with 3D CAD, Rhino, or Fusion 360 (a plus). Revit/BIM experience (a plus). Ability to travel as required. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
