Technician - Mechanical Integration | All Shifts All Levels

Role Overview At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, within Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance, and supports manufacturing and supply‑chain activities across all Blue Origin facilities. The position reports to the Shift Leader and involves supporting the development and construction of liquid rocket engine test facilities. Primary Responsibilities Demonstrate operational excellence in test‑stand procedure execution, review, improve, and follow test procedures and processes. Work with engineers to plan and execute assembly of complex mechanical systems, fabricate and install tubing, valves, and other components. Lead rebuilding, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, cryogenic systems, and ground‑support equipment. Safely work with hazardous chemicals and high‑pressure fluid systems. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to promote workplace safety, achieve cost savings, and streamline test‑stand operations. Anomaly Response Duties Deploy to any Blue Origin site within 48 hours of an anomaly response request (desired within 24 hours). Execute high‑priority troubleshooting, maintenance, and integration tasks during anomaly and outage events. Support general team missions in priority order. Work Schedule & Rotation Base schedule: 8 days on / 6 days off (8/6 rotation). Standard hours: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (subject to change based on operational needs). Overtime expected during anomaly response periods; minimized otherwise. Off‑Site Deployments Deployments may last up to 28 days at a time. Minimum 3 days off provided within each deployment period. No more than 14 consecutive days worked during a deployment. After a 4‑week deployment, a minimum 7‑day rest period is provided, extendable to 12 days. Minimum Qualifications 3+ years in rocket engine or jet engine testing, or rocket engine test facility support. Ability to work with test and flight safety‑critical hardware. Ability to use standard mechanical tools and shop fabrication equipment. Experience with pneumatic and propellant systems. Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics. Ability to lift 40 lbs.; work in adverse weather; climb stairs and ladders. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications 7+ years in propulsion facility or launch vehicle operation, integration or maintenance. Knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, including liquid oxygen, liquid hydrogen, and other cryogenics. Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings) and pressurized system safety. Experience operating heavy‑lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight‑critical hardware. Benefits Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance.
