has an immediate need for an Electronic Security Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and lifecycle management of enterprise-level Electronic Security Systems (ESS) supporting U.S. Government facilities and programs.Position is in Norfolk, VA.Job Description:The Electronic Security Systems Engineer applies advanced engineering principles to the design, integration, and sustainment of electronic security systems supporting federal facilities and critical infrastructure.The Electronic Security Systems Engineer serves as the technical lead for system architecture, integration planning, and engineering oversight for complex security systems including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and alarm monitoring systems.This position provides technical leadership and guidance to Engineering Technicians and Field Technicians, ensuring systems are designed, integrated, and deployed in accordance with government standards and program requirements.Typical responsibilities include:System Engineering & DesignDevelop system architectures for integrated electronic security systemsDesign access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, and alarm monitoring systemsProduce system design packages including drawings, schematics, and system diagramsDevelop equipment specifications and bill of materialsEnsure compliance with applicable government standards and regulationsPerform system capacity and performance analysisIntegration & Technical OversightLead system integration efforts involving multiple security subsystemsOversee configuration and integration of security platforms and network infrastructureValidate interoperability between access control, IDS, video management, and monitoring systemsProvide engineering support during installation and commissioningSupport troubleshooting of complex system-level issuesTechnical LeadershipProvide technical direction to Engineering Technicians and Electronics TechniciansReview installation work and technical documentation for accuracySupport development of test procedures and system acceptance plansParticipate in system commissioning and acceptance testingProvide subject matter expertise during system upgrades and modernization effortsProgram SupportCoordinate with government stakeholders, program managers, and installation personnelSupport design reviews, engineering change proposals, and system upgradesPrepare engineering reports, technical documentation, and design packagesSupport facility security assessments and infrastructureIntegrated command and control platformsQualifications:Must have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical fieldMust have at least 6–10 years of experience in electronic security systems engineering, design, or integration may be used in lieu of a degreeMust have minimum 4 years of experience in electronic security systems engineering, design, or integrationMust have experience designing or integrating large-scale electronic security systemsMust have a strong understanding of integrated security system architecturesMust have the ability to interpret and develop electrical schematics and system diagramsMust have knowledge of networked IP-based systems and infrastructureMust have strong analytical and problem-solving skillsDesired QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license (preferred but not required)Experience supporting federal or defense security programs such as US Army Corps of Engineers, Naval Information Warfare Center, US Air Force and Department of State, preferred.Knowledge of applicable security system standards including: Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) for
