Maintenance Technician

Facility Maintenance CoordinatorResponsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of parish and/or school buildings, equipment, and grounds. Ensures facilities are safe, functional, and well maintained to support the mission and ministries of the Catholic Church.Responsibilities:Performs general maintenance, renovation, and repair work for parish, rectory, food pantry and school facilities, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.Conducts preventive maintenance and safety inspections, addressing issues promptly.Coordinate or oversee seasonal workers, volunteers, or outside contractors as assigned.Maintains an inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment. This is to be updated at least semi-annually.Ensures all work areas and parish or school grounds are clean, orderly, and safe for students, staff, and parishioners. Monitors and ensures that buildings comply with safety codes.Responsible for the cleaning of the parish Church, offices, gathering space, Gym and public restrooms.Coordinates with the custodial team for the school and provides additional custodial assistance on an extraordinary basis.Collaborates with the Pastor, Principal, and office manager on facility needs, safety concerns, and repair priorities.Ex officio member of the 'parish building committee'.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; additional vocational or trade school training preferred.Minimum three years of experience in building or facility maintenance.Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems.Ability to follow established safety procedures and diocesan maintenance guidelines.Ability to lift and carry heavy items.Commitment to the values and mission of the Catholic Church.Strong attention to detail, healthy work ethic and respect for safety standards.Reports To:Pastor and PrincipalRequirementsNote: All employees are required to consent to a background check, commit to our Code of Conduct policy, and complete online and in-person trainings prior to hire.St. Gabriels offers a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental and vision plans, STD/LTD fully paid by the employer, retirement plans including a 403b plan and a defined benefit pension plan.
