About the Rol e:Neal Electric, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for an Estimator based out of our Carlsbad, CA location. The ideal candidate will provide direct estimating support to the operations department to ensure project proposals align with company and client expectation s. Key Responsibiliti es:Assist in the updating of weekly Estimating Department reporting and tracki ng.Analyze and interpret bid documents, Performs quantity take-offs of electrical and low voltage systems drawin gs.Review material pricing for accuracy and completen essReview plans, specifications, addenda and front end docume ntsPerform constructability reviews and value engineering exerci sesIdentify upcoming projects for bidding opportuniti es.Prepare bid forms and update proposal scope letter with project specifics and detai ls.Deliver bids and prequalification packag es.Identify sensitive project requirements, threats and opportunities for accurate biddi ng.Perform additional assignments as directed by direct Supervis or.Prepare, package and submit competitive estimates within a reasonable ti me.Schedule and attend job turnover meetings and assure preparation of job turnover docume ntsRequest quotes and professional interaction with subs and supplie rs.Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, colleagues, supervisors, administrative personnel, vendors, and subcontractors based on mutual respect and integri Qualificati ons:Possess a valid class C California driver's lic enseSKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITI ONS:Proficient in Accubid, LiveCount, MS Office Suite including intermediate knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Blue beamAbility to accurately enter data and perform mathematical calculati ons.Able to adjust priorities on short notice, manage interruptions and work well under press ure.Ability to meet deadlines and coordinate workloads with Supervi sor.Effective communication, grammar, letter writing, organizational and problem-solving ski lls.Construction industry experience a plusInteract professionally with all company employees and outside persons, such as customers, vendors and professional service provid ers.Ability to stay focused and work without close supervis ion.Work effectively both independently and as part of a t eam.Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are necess ary.Mental alertness and good memory is necessary to ensure accurate and thorough completion of work activit ies.Ability to interpret and disseminate complex information appropriate and effectiv ely.Ability to sit for prolonged periods and efficiently operate computer, calculator, copier, and other business office equipm ent.Working conditions consist of temperature-controlled buildings or offices, outside elements such as rain, cold, and heat when working in open environments, driving from various locations or attending meetings, etc. Noise levels are moderate to loud depending on work locat ion.
