The Audio Tuning, Testing & Benchmarking team develops and validates the complete vehicle audio experience across Lucid programs, including media playback, telephony, Pedestrian Warning Systems (PWS), factory acoustic diagnostics, DSP software integration and competitive benchmarking.

The team works at the intersection of acoustics, psychoacoustics, signal processing, software development, and vehicle validation to deliver industry-leading customer experiences throughout the vehicle lifecycle.

Role:

Lucid is seeking a senior acoustic engineer with deep expertise in acoustics, psychoacoustics, digital signal processing, and vehicle audio systems.

This role bridges acoustic science with practical implementation, translating measurement data, vehicle behavior, and customer feedback into production-ready audio solutions. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across telephony, DSP architecture, factory acoustic diagnostics, and real-world vehicle validation.

The position requires strong experimental skills, the ability to diagnose complex multidisciplinary issues, and the technical judgment to guide decisions when requirements, system behavior, or available data are incomplete.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong foundation in acoustics, psychoacoustics, and digital signal processing.
• Experience developing, tuning, and validating audio systems.
• Experience designing experiments and interpreting acoustic measurement data.
• Ability to diagnose complex technical issues across software, hardware, and system boundaries.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.

Preferred:

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Acoustics, Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• Experience with automotive audio systems.
• Experience with AudioWeaver or similar DSP development environments.
• Experience with telephony technologies including Acoustic Echo Cancellation, Noise Reduction, beamforming, and microphone processing.
• Experience with acoustic measurement systems and laboratory instrumentation.
• Experience developing production diagnostics or manufacturing test methodologies.
• Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers.

Work Environment

This role requires hands-on work with vehicles, lab equipment, and development hardware. The position involves regular collaboration with engineering, software, manufacturing, and validation teams and may require occasional travel to support vehicle testing, manufacturing activities, and program milestones.

Salary Range : The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$179,400—$263,120 USD

Compensation & Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, are determined based on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
