Full‑time Police Investigator Grambling State University seeks a full‑time Police Investigator who will conduct investigations, gather evidence, and provide testimony to support criminal prosecutions on campus. Essential Experience Minimum of three (3) years of law enforcement experience. Alternative: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university substitutes for one year of the required experience, up to a maximum of sixty semester hours (two years). Essential Requirements At least 18 years of age. Current Louisiana driver’s license. Active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification may be required. Disqualification for applicants convicted of a felony or under indictment on a felony charge until relief is granted. Job Duties Investigate crimes by interviewing victims, witnesses and suspects. Examine crime scenes, collect, preserve, document and analyze evidence. Prepare and file detailed investigative reports. Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and the district attorney’s office to share criminal intelligence. Escort prisoners to police station and process booking on charges. Pursue and apprehend fleeing suspects, including physical skills such as climbing fences or walls, jumping ditches or running several blocks. Process evidence, prepare court cases and provide legal testimony. Supervise law enforcement personnel at crime scenes. Serve as Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned. Work Schedule 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM Hours are subject to change. Compensation Base pay: $47,340.80 annually. Salary may increase based on qualifications and experience. Additional compensation may be awarded in accordance with State Civil Service Rule 6.5(g) for extraordinary qualifications.
