Job Summary:
Inpatient Physical Therapist (PT) position located in Bakersfield, California. The role involves providing acute inpatient therapy services in a medical/surgical and ICU setting. Candidates are required to bring their California Physical Therapist license on the first day of the assignment.

Job Details:

• Specialty: Physical Therapist Inpatient (PT IP)
• Start Date: 06/22/2026
• Shift: Days (typically 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with occasional 10:00 am - 6:30 pm shifts once a week)
• Hours: 40 hours per week with a schedule of days, every other weekend, and first to float
• Required Qualifications: CA Physical Therapist license, BLS certification (American Heart Association), minimum of 2 years of acute inpatient physical therapy experience, familiarity with Cerner charting system
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with general medical/deconditioned patients, orthopedic surgeries (TKA, THA, spinal surgery), CVA, and ICU settings
• Additional Information: This role involves treating approximately 12 patients per day across various medical and surgical wards. The department offers general hospital orientation along with specific training to familiarize staff with procedures and systems. Coverage includes Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER areas. The hospital may cancel up to four shifts within a 13-week assignment or three shifts within shorter assignments, with hospital policies on pay during cancellations.
