Tutors commit to:- Conducting group tutorial sessions that underscore the principle of collaborative learning. - Communicate regularly with the AVID coordinator/teacher regarding student progress. - Acknowledge the individuality of all students and work to develop their academic and personal pride.- Reinforce the idea that learning extends far beyond mere studying to form the basis for long term accomplishments.

Tutors should be current college students who are excellent role models with the following characteristics: motivated organized and reliable and believe all students can and will succeed.
