Lactation Specialist - Labor and Delivery - FT Evenings

Location & Shift Bronxville, New York | Evening shift (Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–11:00pm, including weekend rotations) Job Overview The Lactation Specialist – Labor and Delivery – Full Time Evening shift provides direct, comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns within NewYork‑Presbyterian Hospital’s Women’s Health unit. This role leads the Baby Friendly Initiative, educates staff and patients, and mentors new staff and students. Responsibilities Provide direct, effective lactation support and comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns. Lead and coordinate the Baby Friendly Initiative. Educate staff and patients on best lactation practices. Act as a preceptor for new staff and students, providing professional role modeling. Support QA and QI initiatives to enhance care quality. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Current New York State RN license. Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) from the International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants. Minimum three (3) years of related clinical experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal and computer skills. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Nursing or related field.
