Travel or Local Outpatient Orthopedic X-Ray Technician Location: West Palm Beach, FL Position Type: Contract / Temporary (ASAP Start through October 2026) Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (40 hours/week, 30-minute unpaid lunch) Setting: Fast-paced, high-volume Outpatient Orthopedic Practice Traveler Pay: Up to $2,800 weekly gross (includes a $1,575 non-taxed travel stipend + up to $350 travel reimbursement each way to/from the assignment). Local Pay: Up to $2,500 weekly gross ($60/HR). Work-Life Balance: No weekends, no late nights, and no fluoroscopy requirements. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled, patient-oriented X-Ray Technician to join our fast-paced outpatient orthopedic practice in beautiful West Palm Beach, FL , for an immediate contract opportunity running through October. In this role, you will specialize in capturing high-quality musculoskeletal radiographic images that directly assist our orthopedic surgeons and clinical team in diagnosing and treating bone, joint, and soft tissue injuries. The ideal candidate maintains a compassionate patient care approach while thriving in an efficient, high-volume outpatient clinical setting, averaging roughly 30 to 40 scans per day. Key Responsibilities Diagnostic Imaging: Perform high-quality orthopedic radiographic exams (including spine, hips, knees, ankles, feet, weight-bearing views, stress views, and complex extremity positioning) utilizing stationary digital radiography equipment. Patient Care & Safety: Prepare patients for procedures, verify identity, explain the imaging process to alleviate anxiety, and accurately position patients while safely accommodating physical limitations or acute pain. Radiation Safety: Adhere strictly to ALARA principles, utilizing proper radiation shielding, collimation, and exposure techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and yourself. Documentation & PACS: Process and review digital images for technical quality, ensure accurate labeling, and promptly transfer images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for provider interpretation. Clinic Workflow Support: Maintain clean, organized, and fully sanitized x-ray rooms. Monitor inventory of imaging supplies and assist with general clinical workflow tasks during peak hours. Qualifications & Requirements Required Education & Certifications: Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology. Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) . Active Florida State Licensure (Certified Radiologic Technologist) or eligibility to immediately practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification . Required Experience & Technical Skills: Minimum of 1 year of experience as an X-Ray Tech, with a strong preference for dedicated experience in an outpatient orthopedic or sports medicine clinic. Thorough knowledge of orthopedic anatomy and specialized positioning (spine, hips, knees, ankles, feet). Proficiency operating digital radiography (DR) equipment and navigating PACS and Epic EHR systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating GE Discovery equipment is a major plus. Efficiency: Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a fast clinic cadence (30–40 scans/day) without sacrificing image quality or patient safety.
