Prep CookOur upscale casual seafood restaurant is seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our team. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing seafood, vegetables, sauces, and other items from scratch. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a professional kitchen, a passion for food, and a strong commitment to quality. Candidate will ensure consistency and quality of all products. This position is available only at our Commissary kitchen located in Sterling, VA.Responsibilities:Prepare a variety of sauces, seasonings, desserts, etc. from scratchEnsure all items are prepared according to our recipes and standards of qualityKeep the kitchen area clean and organized at all timesMonitor food inventory and order supplies as neededRequirements:High school diploma or equivalentAt least 2 years of experience working in a professional kitchenStrong knowledge of seafood preparation and cooking techniquesAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 poundsPreferred:Experience working in an upscale casual restaurant environmentKnowledge of seafood sustainability practicesThis is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
