Landscaper - Campus Services

Description Landscapers, under the direction of a Crew Leader, constructs, plants, maintains, and repairs new landscape areas in assigned sections of campus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operates ground maintenance equipment including lawn movers, trimmers, edgers, backpack and street blowers and pressure washer equipment. Prunes trees and shrubs. Removes trash and debris from assigned areas of campus. Monitors and activates irrigation systems. May apply fertilizer and pesticides to landscape areas. May drive utility vehicles to and from worksites. Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma or equivalent. One year of landscape or grounds maintenance experience. Some positions within this classification may require a valid Category 24 Ornamental and Turf Control Pesticide Applicators License from the Georgia Department of Agriculture or the ability to obtain certification within six months of employment. Some positions within this classification may require a valid Georgia driver's license, an insurable driving record. Ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop and twist. NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
