Health And Information Management - Patient Access SpecialistThis position is for a Patient Registration Representative responsible for facilitating patient access to healthcare services through accurate and efficient registration and pre-registration processes. The role typically involves working evening shifts of approximately 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with three to four shifts per week. The representative supports both outpatient and inpatient registration activities, ensuring that patient demographic, insurance, and financial information is collected and documented correctly. The position focuses on providing excellent customer service while assisting patients, physicians, and healthcare staff in navigating administrative processes related to healthcare services. The representative will also help patients understand financial responsibilities such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality while ensuring a smooth and welcoming registration experience.Requirements: Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in a high-volume healthcare facility, medical office, or administrative healthcare environment. Experience with medical billing, insurance verification, and healthcare registration processes is strongly preferred. Applicants should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with patients, insurance companies, physicians, and internal healthcare staff. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is highly desirable. Candidates must also demonstrate strong computer proficiency, including experience with systems such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to navigate multiple computer applications simultaneously. Strong typing skills with a minimum of 45 words per minute are required. Bilingual skills in Spanish or Mandarin are preferred but not required.
