Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in related specialty License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Must-Have: Experience in managing patients with trachs and ventilator support required Experience with non-titrated cardiac drip management required Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:3 with trachs and ventilator management Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a step-down unit. Candidates must have experience managing patients with trachs and ventilators. Non-titrated cardiac drip management experience is required, including medications such as Amiodarone, Milrinone, Lasix, Cardizem, Dopamine, and Dobutamine. Experience with insulin protocols is preferred but not required. The position requires valid certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIH. Candidates must be flexible with weekend shifts, with a minimum requirement of two weekends per month. Float within areas of competency, including med/surg, tele, and observation, is expected. Knowledge of the Omnicell medication system and SBAR communication is essential. Support teams include interpretation services, lift teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, physical therapy, radiology, rapid response teams, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretaries. Intensivist and hospitalist provider coverage is available. Skills in interpreting dysrhythmias, managing ventilated patients, and performing wound care are required. Experience with various procedures and equipment, such as feeding tube care, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway management, is essential. Compliance with isolation precautions and safety protocols is critical. Candidates with first-time travel nursing experience and PCU experience will be considered. This position does not allow local candidates within 50 miles.
