About the Role
The Company is seeking a Director, Managing Counsel to join its legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice on a wide range of broker-dealer and bank services, with a focus on institutional trading of equity and fixed-income securities, originations of various financial instruments, and the offering of outsourced trading services. This role involves advising on legal, regulatory, and reputational issues, as well as providing guidance on new markets, product development, and strategic business initiatives. The Director, Managing Counsel will also be involved in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal contracts, and will be expected to maintain a strong understanding of global regulatory issues. Applicants for this role should have a JD, NY Bar admission, and a minimum of 10 years' of experience in a law firm or large financial institution, specifically in the areas of fixed income and equity sales and trading. The role requires a deep knowledge of current regulatory issues affecting institutional sales, trading, and capital markets businesses, and the ability to provide strategic legal advice in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to staying informed about legal trends in the financial services industry are essential. The position also involves overseeing and managing outside counsel, so experience in this area is a plus.
