Registered Nurse - Neuro Med Surg

Location: Johnstown, PA

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 18:45 - 06:45

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neuro Med Surg team. The nurse will be responsible for providing excellent patient care to adults, managing cases that include CVA, TIA, seizure, and more. The position operates within a highly technological environment, ensuring that all nursing practices adhere to established protocols and patient care standards.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Neuro Med Surg setting.
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes and care strategies.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments and care interventions.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current RN license in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Neuro or Med Surg setting.
• Preferred certifications: NIH Stroke Scale and Swallow Screen.
• Competency in dysrhythmias is required; a math dosage test will be administered on the first day of orientation.
