Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Summary Morris Animal Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented and personable Accounts Payable Specialist to manage the organization's payables process and support day-to-day accounting operations. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for all accounts payable transactions, working closely with employees, vendors, grant teams, and international partners across the globe. Key Responsibilities Process and manage accounts payable transactions with accuracy and attention to detail. Prepare and issue weekly check runs, ACH payments, and domestic and international wire transfers. Verify vendor banking information and maintain accurate payment records. Coordinate payment schedules and ensure timely vendor payments. Process approximately: 15-20 checks per week 20-25 ACH and wire transactions per week Maintain access to and work within the organization's banking platforms. Assist with limited accounts receivable and other accounting support activities as needed. Collaborate regularly with employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding payment inquiries and transaction status. Maintain organized documentation and comply with internal controls and accounting policies. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of Full Cycle Accounts Payable experience. Experience processing checks, ACH transactions, and wire transfers. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and large ERP systems like Sage Intacct, Great Plains, or Oracle. Position Specifications Full-time, exempt position. Job duties are performed in a general office environment and include sitting and operating a computer and other office machinery. Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Proof of authorization to work in the United States required. Work Location Requirements: Hybrid Work Model (some in-office work required at MAF's central office in Denver; the specific schedule will vary based on position duties, current projects, and organizational needs). Colorado candidates preferred; remote work may be considered in certain circumstances. MAF is not currently hiring in CA, HI, NY, or NJ.
