Registered Nurse (RN) | Behavioral Health Adult C

Location: Avera Behavioral Health Center – Sioux Falls Worker Type: Regular Shift: Rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays (United States) Pay Range: $32.50 – $48.50 hourly (actual pay dependent on experience) Position Highlights: Eligible for a Sign‑On Bonus up to $15,000 (for RN with 3+ years of experience) Adult C Unit: 26‑bed therapeutic environment for adults with anxiety, depression, personality disorders and suicidal behavior RN to patient ratio 7‑8 Flexible scheduling program Student Loan Repayment Program: $167 monthly (up to $10,000 total) Varied shifts; 72 hrs/2 weeks Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing care objectives; defining interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends; monitoring patient conditions and re‑evaluating goals. What you will do (Responsibilities) Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the health‑care team. Coordinate with other health‑care providers and communicate pertinent information. Conduct assessments, document patient status, and develop nursing diagnoses and care objectives. Educate patients, families, and friends about conditions, medications, and self‑care skills. Evaluate care outcomes, modify nursing plans, and document all interventions in charts. Maintain a safe, secure environment, adhering to infection‑control policies, medication administration protocols, controlled substance regulations, and legal regulations. Keep equipment operating and supplies ready; troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, place orders, and verify receipt. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership. Essential Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with an active state license (Board of Nursing). Ability to work scheduled hours and perform essential job functions. Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties; effective communication skills. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.
