Summary Inspect, maintain and repair construction vehicles and heavy equipment/machinery using hand and power tools and appropriate lifting equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Repair and replace damaged or worn parts Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges Supervisory Responsibilities None Requirements Work in dusty or dirty surrounding Workers must be able to stoop, bend, crouch and crawl; use hands, arms and legs fully; grasp, manipulate, and assemble small objects; see and hear well (either naturally or with correction) Lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds Ability to be away from home for long periods of time Valid Driver's license and good driving record Must have own tools Education and Experience High school diploma preferred two–three years relevant experience. Physical Examination Candidates that accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination. This exam is essential to ensure that all potential employees meet the necessary health and fitness standards for the role. The examination includes a series of tests and evaluations conducted by a certified medical professional to assess overall physical health, identify any potential medical conditions that could interfere with job performance, and verify that the candidate is capable of safely performing the essential duties of the position. Completion and clearance of this physical are mandatory steps in the hiring process.
