Position Description


The Data Compliance Technician - Benefits position processes benefit enrollments for Metro employees and ensures enrollment guidelines are followed and maintained. The position manages data within the Oracle Cloud HRIS system and acts as a liaison between employees, vendors, and insurance carriers. Performs technical duties related to Metro's benefit structure based on the Metro Code, Metro Charter, Benefit Board polices/procedures, Cafeteria Plan, and medical plan documents.

Generally, this position works a hybrid work schedule with 2 days in the office and 3 days virtual work after training.
Typical Duties

  • Requests, reviews and processes all required documentation for New Hire benefit election paperwork for all General Government.
  • Updates employee benefits due to life changing events including but not limited to military leave, child support, qualifying events such as marriage, birth of a child, etc.
  • Reviews and process corrections for all Insurance Eligibility Files submitted to enrollment vendors to resolve a variety of enrollment discrepancies.
  • Enters pertinent benefit enrollment transactions data into the HRIS System assuring accuracy and data integrity to ensure compliance with the General Government benefit structure.
  • Monitors and audits all enrollment premiums pertaining to all medical plans to ensure premium payments are being collected for all General Government employees based on all General Government plans and policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures employees and data are compliant with applicable programs and regulations such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines, Metro Benefit Code and Charter, medical plan documents, etc.
  • Scans and indexes official Medicare correspondence for Metro General Government pensioners.
  • Corresponds with employees to advise and/or inquire about information needed such as incomplete forms, documentation, or assisting with questions and processes.
  • Examines and reviews excel spreadsheets to compare and review data pulled from HRIS system reports.
  • Keeps abreast of concepts, principles, practices and applications of human resources or benefits work, applicable rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Experience administering benefit enrollment compliance information for employees
