Manufacturing Quality Technician

$20.5 per hour

Job Title

Location: Forsyth, MO

Starting Pay: $20.50 per hour

Schedule: 4 day work week/10 hour schedule, Monday to Thursday, 2:45pm - 1:15am. Initial training will be on a mid-shift schedule for at least a couple of weeks, from Noon to 10:30pm.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Ensure attendance and attention to detail to perform job duties effectively.
  • Assist in policy and procedural compliance throughout the manufacturing process related to established quality standards.
  • Perform pre-operation line approval in all production areas.
  • Conduct weight checks periodically to ensure encapsulating/tableting machines are properly dosing.
  • Inspect in-process and finished products for defects and gather samples for testing.
  • Perform additional customer-required quality control checks in production to assure compliance with established specifications.
  • Assist as needed with the sampling and releasing of incoming raw materials.
  • Maintain and retain samples of raw materials and finished goods in an orderly manner.
  • Perform environmental sanitation sampling.
  • Assist the Quality Control Supervisor in maintaining the Quality Control Hold Log and keeping designated hold areas organized.
  • Assist in the monthly retest or sampling of materials as needed.
  • Release products for shipping after all batch records have been reviewed and approved, and all testing is completed.
  • Complete verification of order approval for scheduling.
  • Assist in equipment IQ/OQ completion and investigations.
  • Check all packaging work orders against the PFL's.
  • Approve work order folders for scheduling.
  • Physically maintain and manage the QC Hold areas, including inventorying items awaiting disposition.
  • Assist in maintaining and retaining samples of packaging components in an orderly manner.
Equipment Used

Proper use of PPE is required when working around any raw materials or components. Must be able to use the in-house computer system and applicable programming, as well as basic office equipment such as fax machines, photocopy machines, scanners, and printers. Must be able to use a pallet jack and other similar tools.

Education And/Or Experience

High school diploma or GED required. Prior knowledge is helpful but not required.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Good inter-departmental communication skills, both written and oral, are necessary.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Statistical process control principles are applied.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Other Skills & Abilities

Must be very detail-oriented. Knowledge of raw materials and computer experience is helpful but not necessary.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required include close-up vision and color vision. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and move up to 250 pounds using a pallet jack or other similar tools.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately noisy. The use of PPE is required if working in manufacturing areas. Other duties may be assigned by management.
