The candidate should have a complete knowledge of the sport and the ability to teach and motivate student-athletes to be successful academically and athletically.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Recruit, train, and coach students-athletes.2. Organize, schedule and supervise practice sessions.3. Schedule games.4. Coordinate team travel.5. Perform administrative tasks including budget management.6. Order and inventory all equipment.7. Generate additional funds for support of the program through fundraising.8. Hire and supervise assistant coaches.9. Provide a high quality of moral and ethical leadership.10. Ability to work with diverse populations.11. Participate in achieving departmental and college goals and objectives.12. Perform related duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS1. Bachelor’s Degree.2. Three (3) years of college, high school, other 16u – 18u coaching experience.3. Valid Driver’s License.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS1. Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and organizational skills.2. Computer experience and technology skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.PHYSICAL DEMANDS1. The employee is often required to stand, walk, run, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch. Vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus.2. Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.3. Ability to travel in state and nationally.WORKING CONDITIONS1. Duties are performed indoors and outdoors daily, as weather conditions permit, in the athletics environment.
