Lead Clinician Speech and Language Therapist

Lead Clinician – Speech and Language Therapist Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Contract: Permanent – 52 weeks. Location: New Barn School – Berkshire RG20 8HZ. Independent specialist day school for children and young people aged 6 – 19. Responsibilities Lead and manage the in‑house clinical team at New Barn School. Hold a therapy caseload and deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for students with complex needs including autism, neurodivergence, developmental trauma and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Co‑ordinate the line management of onsite clinic staff and lead service development of the school‑based clinical service. Meet the needs of EHCP plans in a target‑led manner, embedding OFG clinical practice into all, group and individual work. Provide supervision and support to therapy team members. Collaborate with the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Regional Clinical Lead and multi‑professional teams. Contribute to research projects, special interest groups and clinical network training and development. Qualifications Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy. Valid and up‑to‑date professional registration and membership of a professional body (e.g., BPS). Experience working with autistic individuals and/or complex needs. Clear and concise report writing relating to clinical and research activities. Experience providing supervision and supporting a therapy team. Ability to work independently and dynamically within a growing clinical service. Experience of multi‑professional work with teams or services in the designated specialty preferred. Full UK valid driving licence and access to own vehicle.
