AVER is seeking an experienced UI/UX Developer to perform User Interface and Interface Optimization support in support of the Department of Homeland Security. This role will provide user-centered design, application development, and interface modernization support to enhance the usability, functionality, and performance of data-driven tools, dashboards, and reporting systems. Responsibilities Include:Design and modernize user-centered applications, dashboards, reporting interfaces, and mission-support toolsTranslate business and operational requirements into intuitive, efficient, user-friendly solutionsAnalyze workflows to identify process improvements and streamline user interactions across systems and applicationsDevelop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and interface designs for application development and modernizationPartner with stakeholders, developers, data analysts, and product teams to define functional and technical requirementsImprove interfaces to strengthen functionality, navigation, usability, accessibility, and the overall user experienceBuild and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Tableau, Microsoft Power Platform, and related technologiesSupport data integration across multiple sources and SQL-based platforms, including Redshift, Oracle, and PostgreSQLContribute to architecture discussions to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with mission objectivesConduct usability testing, user acceptance testing, and validation to confirm solutions meet business and user requirementsApply accessibility standards and user experience best practices throughout the development lifecycleCreate and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, workflow diagrams, user guides, and development materialsSupport application sustainment, system enhancements, defect resolution, and ongoing modernizationCoordinate daily development activities and track progress against team priorities and project objectivesUse Adobe Photoshop and related design tools to create interface assets and visual elementsProvide technical and analytical support to assess existing systems and recommend usability and functionality improvementsCollaborate across teams to deliver mission-aligned solutions that improve processes, reporting, and operational effectivenessEducation Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant technical fieldExperience Requirements:15+ years of professional work experience within data analysis, assessment and/or reportingExperience supporting UI/UX design, application modernization, or dashboard and reporting solutionsAbility to translate user needs and business requirements into wireframes, prototypes, or functional interface designsKnowledge of usability, accessibility, and user-centered design practicesExperience collaborating with stakeholders and technical teams to gather feedback and refine solutionsExperience using common design or visualization tools to create mockups, dashboards, or interface assetsAbility to independently lead high-visibility, mission-critical projects from concept through deliveryDesired Requirements:Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environmentAbility to comprehend advanced technical conceptsExperience supporting the Federal Government, such as the Department of Homeland Security, is preferredLocation:REMOTE (Local to Washington, DC)Security Requirements:Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)This role supports a government agency which requires U.S. citizenshipAbout Us:AVER, LLC is a Data & Digital Transformation company that delivers exceptional client service with great people and transformative technology solutions to enable Government mission success.
