Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI)

Responsibilities Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities: Conduct safety inspections of elevators, escalators, and related equipment in accordance with state and local codes and regulations Identify and report any code violations or safety hazards to appropriate parties Perform functional and load tests of elevators and related equipment Prepare written reports documenting inspection results and recommendations for corrective action Maintain records of inspection activities and maintain current knowledge of industry standards and codes Communicate effectively with contractors, property owners, and other stakeholders Requirements Essential Skills and Experience 5+ years of experience in elevator inspection or related field Must have a Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) Certification NYCHA experience is preferred Working knowledge of state and local codes and regulations for elevators, escalators, and related equipment Ability to conduct thorough and accurate inspections Strong attention to detail and ability to identify code violations and safety hazards Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Availability to work in the field. Curiosity and interest in continuous learning in AI and comfort experimenting and iterating quickly; uses data to validate ideas and measure impact.
