Location: San Francisco, CA / Seattle, WA / New York, NY (mostly remote but must be willing to occasionally go in-office)
The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $100.00 – $100.00 per hour, depending on geographic location, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Employment Type: Temporary, approximately 1 year (September 2026 – September 2027)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Job Summary:
- Perform creditworthiness reviews for new and existing customers, recommending credit limits, payment terms, or other risk mitigation
- Review prospective customers and orders for fraud indicators, escalating or declining per procedure
- Review order release requests for customers with past due balances, balancing collection risk against revenue opportunity
- Document credit decisions to support audit and revenue recognition (ASC 606) requirements
- Monitor existing customers for changes in payment behavior or risk exposure, raising concerns proactively
- Track and report on credit review volume, turnaround time, and exposure
- Recommend enhancements to credit policies, procedures, and tooling, including automation opportunities
- Support internal/external audits and SOX testing related to credit
- Share credit risk insights with Collections, Sales, and Deal Desk teams
Requirements:
- Experience performing B2B credit reviews and making credit recommendations under a written credit policy
- Ability to read and interpret financial statements and third-party credit reports
- Experience documenting credit decisions to a standard relied on by auditors
- Working knowledge of ASC 606 collectibility requirements
- Strong written communication skills for decisions delivered outside of Finance
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for exposure analysis and reporting
- 6+ years of experience in commercial credit, credit risk, or related accounts receivable, ideally at a B2B software or consumption-based company (preferred)
- Proficiency in Salesforce required; experience with Stripe or Tesorio a plus
- Experience with an order hold/release process and partnering with Sales on credit decisions (preferred)
- Experience with credit data providers such as Dun & Bradstreet, Moody's, or Experian (preferred)
- Basic SQL skills a plus
