The Residential Life & Housing department is seeking a Maintenance Repairer 2 to join our team to ensure campus facilities are in working order.

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering; OR Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Job Duties and Other Information:

Job Duties:

• Electrical: Maintain and repair electrical systems of proper volts. Installs, alter, maintain and repair wiring systems, electric clocks, floodlights, electrical stoves, and electrical fixtures and equipment. Maintains and replace electric motors, troubleshoots required.
• Painting: Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint. Cleaning up supplies and replacing fixtures when project is complete. Clean and maintain equipment.
• Carpenter: Perform all repairs that are related to carpentry to include framing, finishing, cabinetry, paneling, wallboard, glass repair, lock and installation, door and drapery rod repair and replacements. Flood and tile repairs and concrete patch. Install floor tiles, ceiling tiles, paneling, and wallboard. Repair damaged screens and windows.
• Plumbing: Installs, alter and maintain and repairs water and sewer lines, lavatories commodes, gas and steam lines as required in residence halls/university apartments. Repairs old plumbing fixtures and pipelines; renew washers and vales; clean open lines as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Compensation: The beginning salary is $19.67/hourly
