HR Generalist / Onboarding Coordinator

AGM Transport Inc. is seeking an organized, professional, and people-focused HR Generalist & Driver Onboarding Coordinator to join our team in Joliet, IL.

This role is responsible for supporting daily HR functions, coordinating new driver orientation, assisting with employee onboarding, managing ADP Workforce Now tasks, answering employee and driver questions, and helping keep the office running smoothly.

The ideal candidate is someone who is highly organized, comfortable working with drivers and office staff, able to handle confidential information, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced transportation environment.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate new driver orientation and onboarding
• Prepare and collect onboarding paperwork for drivers and office employees
• Assist new hires with ADP Workforce Now setup and onboarding tasks
• Maintain employee records and HR documentation
• Assist with health insurance enrollment, benefits questions, and employee updates
• Help employees with payroll questions, PTO requests, ADP access, and general HR inquiries
• Assist with wage garnishments and employment-related documentation
• Maintain handbook acknowledgments, HR forms, and company policy documentation
• Conduct phone interviews for office positions
• Schedule interviews and communicate with applicants
• Greet visitors, drivers, applicants, vendors, and employees in the office
• Assist drivers with general questions and direct them to the correct department when needed
• Support company events, employee communication, office lunches, birthdays, and other internal activities
• Assist with general office and administrative tasks as needed
• Work closely with recruiting, safety, payroll, dispatch, and management teams
• Help create a professional and organized onboarding experience for all new employees and drivers

Requirements

• 2+ years of HR, onboarding, recruiting, office administration, or related experience preferred
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
• Transportation, trucking, logistics, or driver onboarding experience is a plus
• Strong communication and people skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally
• Comfortable working with drivers, office employees, applicants, and management
• Ability to multitask and follow through in a fast-paced environment
• Professional phone and office presence
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar systems
• Bilingual is a plus, but not required
