HR Assistant

IN-Elwood Plant 490 S 22nd St Elwood, IN 46036, USA Responsibilities Process weekly payroll and ensure accuracy of timekeeping records. Monitor, track, and report employee attendance in accordance with company policies. Support the administration and scheduling of employee performance reviews. Assist with safety program tasks, including documentation, reporting, and training coordination. Coordinate recruiting efforts by posting jobs, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and supporting onboarding. Maintain accurate and confidential employee files, records, and HR documentation. Serve as a resource for employees by responding to HR‑related questions and directing them to appropriate policies or contacts. Assist supervisors and managers with HR processes, paperwork, and policy compliance. Support general HR department operations and contribute to a positive and productive work environment. Qualifications Education and Experience 1-3 years professional office experience 1-3 years of experience processing payroll or human resources experience Computer proficient - MS Office (especially Excel and Word) Computer savvy in various software applications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of payroll and payroll preparation Ability to set and meet deadlines Excellent interpersonal skills Multi-task oriented Friendly ambassador Customer Service Orientation Physical Requirements and Working Conditions To perform this job successfully, the physical demands listed are representative of those that must be met by an employee Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear Must be able to sit for extended time while attending to phones and visitors Must be able to handle frequent interruptions Steady noise from ringing telephones and foot traffic Ability to ambulate fingers to operate a telephone and computer Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds (usually mail) Job Competencies Ethics/ Integrity/ Trust Attitude and Commitment Diversity Customer Service Company Engagement Quality Other Responsible for monitoring, record keeping and taking appropriate actions for specific Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan and pre requisite program requirements.
