Scientist, Non-Viral Gene Editing Platforms

Bristol Myers Squibb

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a scientist to develop non-viral gene editing platforms for engineered cell therapies within the Cell Therapy Thematic Research Center. The role involves hands-on laboratory work optimizing ex vivo and in vivo gene editing approaches, characterizing CAR-T cells, and supporting translational research in cell-based immunotherapies.

Responsibilities

  • Execute laboratory experiments independently, optimizing base ex vivo editing platforms and implementing new technologies
  • Generate CAR-T cells using non-viral gene editing, expansion, and cryopreservation methods
  • Characterize engineered cells via flow cytometry, cytotoxicity assays, and molecular analysis
  • Analyze experimental data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Present findings in multidisciplinary meetings and communicate with cross-functional teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years, Master's with 3+ years, or Ph.D. in life sciences
  • Hands-on experience with gene editing technologies, preferably CRISPR or prime editing
  • Proficiency with T cell culture, aseptic technique, and primary cell maintenance
  • Multi-color flow cytometry expertise including panel design and FlowJo analysis
  • Experience with molecular biology tools such as Benchling or Geneious
  • Knowledge of non-viral gene delivery platforms for in vivo applications
  • Strong independent time management, communication skills, and ELN documentation practices

Compensation: $122,810 - $148,814 base
