Stock ClerkThe Stock Clerk loads the displays and shelves with groceries and merchandise for sale to the customers.The Stock Clerk duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the goals, values and operating principles of Sedano's Supermarkets, and in conformity with all laws and regulations governing the company. Every employee is to follow the policies and procedures of his/her department as well as those of the company to ensure smooth operations. Every employee, regardless of job title, is responsible for ensuring a safe environment throughout the store. This includes, but is not limited to immediately securing an area when a hazardous situation occurs, promptly informing the store manager of the situation, and/or promptly taking action to remove the hazardous condition. Every employee must also maintain a friendly attitude, wear the proper uniform or dress code, keep the store stocked and organized, and provide excellent customer service on a regular basis.The Stock Clerk retrieves, loads and unloads products and merchandise onto cart to move from back room to store displays and/or shelving. The Stock Clerk properly operates department equipment and tools. The Stock Clerk assists with the unloading of delivery trucks. The Stock Clerk keeps the work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards. The Stock Clerk politely greets customers with a smile and provides excellent customer service; attends to customers' needs when looking for store merchandise; calling for manager or supervisor when necessary. The Stock Clerk promptly reports maintenance and safety issues, especially with floor conditions to manager on duty. The Stock Clerk reports all accidents promptly to manager on duty. The Stock Clerk supports other departments when needed in a courteous manner. The Stock Clerk performs other work-related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the position. The Stock Clerk maintains punctuality and good attendance in compliance with company policies.The Stock Clerk retrieves shopping carts from parking lot. The Stock Clerk assists with bagging when needed; places items in bags for customers; assists with loading into shopping cart when necessary. The Stock Clerk assists cashiers with price checks on any store merchandise. The Stock Clerk may perform general cleaning duties such as mopping and sweeping.Competencies, skills and/or qualifications: Ability to read and speak English and Spanish preferred. Ability to understand and follow instructions in both English and Spanish preferred. Ability to use department equipment properly to accomplish essential duties of the position. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one situations with directors, managers, customers (both internal and external) and the general public. Good interpersonal skills. Takes responsibility for own actions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form. Basic math, numeral recognition. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. Ability to work hours and days scheduled, including holidays and weekends.Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
