Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist (RT) PEDS NICU, location unspecified. This position involves providing specialized respiratory care in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The ideal candidate will manage high-acuity and critically ill neonates, including premature infants requiring advanced respiratory support and therapeutic cooling.

Job Details

• Position Description: NICU Respiratory Therapist (RT) Level III providing specialized respiratory care to critically ill neonates, including premature and extremely low-birth-weight infants. Responsibilities include managing invasive and non-invasive ventilation, administering respiratory medications, assisting with intubation, and participating in neonatal resuscitation and high-risk deliveries.
• Certifications: Active Respiratory Therapist license as required by the state, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RT RRT) credential preferred/required, BLS, NRP. Additional certifications may be required based on facility policy.
• Education Requirements: Relevant licensure and certification.
• Experience Requirements: Minimum 3-4 years of recent Level III NICU experience, strong experience with high-acuity neonates, therapeutic cooling, advanced mechanical ventilation, neonatal resuscitation, and managing critically ill neonates. Previous travel experience is preferred for traveler positions.
• Shift Details: Nights shift, 12 hours shift time, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

• Additional Information: Candidates should have hands-on experience with advanced mechanical ventilation, neonatal resuscitation, and therapeutic cooling patients. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, collaborating with neonatologists and NICU nurses, and documenting treatments.
