Maintenance/Building Technicians

We are currently looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance / Building Technician to oversee daily upkeep at our busy distribution center. The successful person will be responsible for diagnosing equipment malfunctions, performing building repairs, and ensuring our facility remains a safe and productive environment. Location: Edgerton, KS Employment Type: Full-time Work Conditions: Distribution Center / Warehouse / Facilities Maintenance Pay: $24.00 per hour Role Overview: As a Maintenance / Building Technician, you will manage preventive maintenance tasks, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, handle equipment repairs, and contribute to the general maintenance of the distribution center. We need a hands-on professional capable of diagnosing issues independently, executing necessary repairs, and addressing urgent maintenance needs to keep operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities: Execute routine preventive maintenance on building systems, machinery, and facility equipment. Address emergency and unscheduled repair needs to help minimize operational downtime for the team. Analyze and identify issues within hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical equipment. Fix or swap out faulty components, verify equipment functionality, and perform required adjustments. Carry out general building repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, and other facility maintenance tasks. Monitor and service warehouse equipment along with supporting facility infrastructure. Interpret work orders, maintenance instructions, and technical equipment manuals. Operate power tools, hand tools, electrical meters, and other specialized maintenance gear. Spot potential maintenance hazards and suggest effective solutions to improve facility longevity. Maintain a tidy, organized, and secure work environment for all staff. Adhere to all facility regulations, food safety standards, and company safety protocols to ensure a secure workplace. Provide clear updates to management regarding repair status and maintenance concerns. Execute additional maintenance tasks as directed by the Operations Manager. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED is mandatory. Three to five years of relevant maintenance experience, ideally within an industrial, commercial, or distribution center setting. Demonstrated background in facilities and building maintenance. Practical understanding of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting. Proven experience with equipment repairs and preventive maintenance. Proficiency in interpreting work orders and equipment manuals. Ability to safely utilize power tools, hand tools, and electrical testing devices. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to help resolve complex technical issues. Capacity to work autonomously and effectively prioritize maintenance requests. Consistent attendance and punctuality. Previous experience in a food distribution or storage environment. Technical certification or training in facilities maintenance, electrical systems, or industrial maintenance. Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Distribution center and warehouse environment. Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting. Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work in various maintenance areas. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Exposure to warehouse machinery, equipment, and varying temperatures.
