Qualifications: Education and Certification Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Master’s degree (preferred) Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned ESL certification (preferred) Experience Five (5) years of successful teaching experience in an elementary or secondary school setting; experience across multiple grade levels (preferred) Knowledge and Skills Comprehensive knowledge of instructional pedagogy Comprehensive knowledge of current Standards for the State of Texas (TEKS) Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Experience in conducting professional development and supporting adult learnersMandated Mandatory Mand… Key Responsibilities: Work with teachers (in teams or individually) to refine their knowledge and skills in instructional best practices; Methods of instruction may include in-class coaching, peer observation, co-teaching, and modeling effective instruction using a gradual release model. Mentor teachers to improve instruction and build their capacity to teach others. Establish a coaching partnership with teachers. Identify a compelling measurable goal for coaching interactions. Maintain manual and electronic records to monitor the impact of coaching on student growth. Work in partnership with Teaching and Learning to improve student achievement. Additional Responsibilities: Adhere to all district policies, procedures, and expectations as outlined in the employee handbook and administrative regulations. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Participate in professional development to remain current on best practices and evidence-based strategies, faculty/department meetings, and special events as assigned. Perform additional duties assigned to support the mission and goals of the district and department.
