Description Pre-procedure Preparation - Assess and prepare patients for endoscopic and other GI procedures, including reviewing of medical history, allergies, and ensuring informed consent is obtained. Assistance during procedure - Assist physicians and GI techs by anticipating needs and maintaining sterile environment. Post Procedure care - provide recovery care, monitor for complications, educate patients and families on post procedure instructions. Equipment handling - participate in setting up, operating and cleaning of equipment according to protocols, ensure proper functioning and maintenance. Documentation - Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including assessment, medications administered, procedural details, and recovery status. Collaboration - Work closely with the procedural team including physicians, techs and other RNs to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient outcomes. Emergency response - respond promptly to emergencies according to protocol. Infection Control and safety - Adhere to strict infection control policies and safety standards to maintain a clean and safe environment. Flexibility - adapt quickly to the needs of a procedure‑based unit, providing high‑quality care on as needed, per diem basis.
