As stewards of growth and talent, we fuel the associate experience and enable operational excellence, creating environments and partnerships people want to be part of.Position SummaryThe Director of Engagement leads RPM Living's associate experience strategy, including engagement, recognition, inclusion, community service, and the corporate workplace. This role is accountable for ensuring associates feel recognized, heard, and connected, and that corporate and regional offices are well run, cost-effective, and reflective of RPM's values. Approximately 30% of the role focuses on corporate office operations, including budget, vendor, and space planning oversight.ResponsibilitiesAssociate ExperienceDevelop and execute an integrated associate experience strategy covering engagement, recognition, inclusion, community service, and the corporate workplace.Lead associate listening efforts, translate feedback into clear insights, and hold leaders accountable for visible action and follow-through.Design and oversee recognition, DEIB, employee resource group, and volunteer programs that reinforce RPM's values and are practical for leaders to execute across markets.Equip leaders with tools and resources to engage, recognize, and connect with their teams consistently.Partner with key stakeholders and departments on timely, accurate associate communications that support engagement, celebrate associate contributions, and guide organizational change.Ensure corporate and regional offices are welcoming, efficient, and consistent with RPM's culture, overseeing daily operations, office systems, and administrative staff.Own the budgets for engagement programs and office operations, and manage vendor, lease, and property relationships in partnership with Procurement and IT.Oversee applicable AP/AR functions and ensure all program and corporate office metrics are met.LeadershipLead, develop, and hold accountable a team across engagement and office operations.Set clear expectations, address performance gaps directly, and model RPM's values.Serve as a strategic partner to the VP, Associate Experience, and represent the function with senior leadership.Education and ExperienceDeep expertise in associate experience, engagement strategy, and culture-building best practices, including recognition program design and inclusion initiatives.Strong understanding of associate-facing communications and the ability to partner effectively with key departments and teams to ensure messaging supports engagement goals.Skilled in analytics, interpretation, and translating data into insight and organizational action.Skilled in DEIB program design, development, management, measurement, and evaluation.Proven ability to lead, develop, and hold accountable a multidisciplinary team across distinct functional areas.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adjust tone, depth, and framing based on audience - from field leaders to executive stakeholders.Ability to build trusted partnerships at all levels of the organization, influence without authority, and navigate organizational dynamics with maturity and professionalism.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority programs and projects simultaneously.Ability to read and interpret seating floor plans and manage space planning processes.Proven ability in developing and managing projects and departmental budgets.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience may substitute for education.Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.Ten years of experience in diagnosing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic culture and engagement strategies.Five or more years of management or supervisory experience over a multidisciplinary team.QualificationsPhysical Requirements:May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.Must be able to read documents, computer screens, and data.Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer.May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds.Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.Work Environment:This is an in-office role, requiring the associate to work in one of our corporate or regional offices a minimum of four days per week based on manager’s discretion.The office is an open setting which may include bright lights, constant noises, and distractions.This role may require day travel or overnight travel quarterly.Company InformationWhy You'll Love Working at RPM LivingWe believe great work starts with people who feel supported at work and beyond it.
