Are you a legal professional with a passion for resolving conflicts? Our firm is looking for a dynamic, experienced, and dedicated Permanent In-House Lawyer- Conflicts to join our team. This role is critical to our business operations and requires a candidate with a strong background in multi-jurisdictional transactions or dispute resolution. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and drafting conflicts of interest provisions, analyzing and resolving professional, legal, regulatory, and commercial issues, and undertaking an initial assessment regarding anti-money laundering, sanctions, reputational, and suitability issues.
Responsibilities:
Review and draft conflicts of interest provisions within engagement terms, client relationship terms, and client panel terms.
Analyze and resolve professional, legal, regulatory, and commercial issues relating to business acceptance and client engagement.
Undertake an initial assessment regarding anti-money laundering, sanctions, reputational, and suitability issues that arise in the assessment of new business.
Refer commercial issues to relevant stakeholders, including practice group heads and office/regional heads.
Exercise judgment as to when to refer business acceptance issues to team leads and/or other senior BAU members.
Qualifications:
J.D. required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in relation to conflicts of interest within a law firm environment.
Preferably admitted in NY, DC, or TX.
International experience with a leading top-tier firm is highly advantageous.
Strong background in multi-jurisdictional transactions or dispute resolution.
Excellent organizational skills.
Advanced interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex legal and regulatory issues.
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, from partners to support staff.
